“May today there be peace within.
May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.
May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content with yourself just the way you are.
Let this acknowledgement settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.”

I love how KLA of Can I Learn To Think Like A Thin Person? describes the process of how she quit dieting and is still losing weight. It’s what I believe and how I live. And in the comments section of her post, “I Did Not Want To Stop Dieting,” I wrote: “I wanted to believe that I could lose weight without plans and programs and weigh-ins. And I was right. And yes, it’s taking longer than others might find acceptable but the self-trust, self-awareness and the fact that I either lose or maintain is worth all the time in the world because before? When I was following plans and programs? I’d inevitably regain…”
I know this way isn’t for everyone, nor is this the right way for everyone, but it’s worth a read…

I really like Kara and her blog. Sometimes she has a twist on some of my own similar thoughts that get me thinking.
Thanks Munchberry!
Karen, am going to check out the links straight away. I LOVE your approach to this – your focus on long term sustainable loss, rather than the more excessive crash-dieting… which from my experience is NEVER sustainable!

Love this post and YES, we all have to find our own way! That is what I did – read, researched, tried things & just found what was right for me long term.
So love all the quotes!
Oh, how I have missed your blog while away, Karen. Coming back here is like coming home. Your words always have a way of just waiting for me to read them at the right moment :)
Thank you for this! It reminds me so much of a Brian Tracy quote I use often: “We see what we believe.”
AHHHH
right now in a relationship Im living that quote
and cammys.
I appreciate this so much. It is such a process and each person’s experience is different. The first quote is my favorite.
Hi Karen, wow – thanks for mentioning my blog in your post and for the fantastic comments you write as well.
Great quote too. “May you be content with yourself just the way you are.” For most of my life I would not allow myself to be happy with who I am. Now, I finally am…
Interesting. I never believed that I could lose weight — or be anything but overweight — if I wasn’t following a plan or program, until I finally gave up and it happenned. It’s not easy – it requires honest examination of my chocies, and self-trust and self-awareness can be challenging, but the inner peace is worth it.
